filming in jungle _BL.png

Tim Shephard

Doco and branded doco specialist. I am an agile filmmaker. Happiest when I’m on the road and under pressure, shooting challenging stories in amazing places. Australian born with a background in news, I worked for several years as a Video Journalist for the Sydney Morning Herald. Moved to San Francisco for 4 years and started a production company focussing on startups and food. The call for adventure took over and I moved to Mexico for five years while directing and shooting a feature film in The Amazon jungle in Peru. Dabbled in tequila and mezcal production because why not? Currently between Sydney and Darwin working on long form content and have just location directed a series for Amazon US as well as producing content for Canva and Google.

I enjoy shooting my own work when I need to but I’m happier with a crew. Filmmaking was always meant to be collaborative. I edit a lot of my own work and am interested in pushing myself and my storytelling capabilities.

Film gives us this incredible access to people and places whom we should never have a chance to visit with and lets us share their experiences with others. It’s a damn privilege to be in this line of work forever pushing ourselves those around us higher.
